I Hate Critics Ep. 20 – Star Trek: Into Darkness

0

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast, a movie podcast. This week Star Trek came out…need I say more. Iron Man has been knocked out of the number one box office spot in it’s third week of release. Bob didn’t see it, instead he stayed home and watched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel to the original not the remakes…if that makes any sense. He should have gone to Star Trek: Into Darkness

Zoiks! Online Interviews: Devour the Day

0

Devour the Day is a great band that came out of a good band called Egypt Central. What was a good pop rock band in Egypt Central became a great band full of authenticity and intensity. Their new album “Time and Pressure” is sure to be one of the best of 2013 and is hopefully the first album on the way to many. I got the chance to chat with Joey “Chicago” Walser, check it out.

Zoiks! Online Interviews: Will Hunt of Device, Evanescence, and Dark New Day

0

If you bought a lot of albums in the rock genre over the last several years than odds are you bought an album that Will Hunt played on. Black Label Society fans, he played on “Order of the Black.” Lately he’s been known for his work with Amy Lee in Evanescence but throw a rock at a handful of hard rock albums and you’re bound to hit one Will Hunt played on. He’s now a full on member of the band Device, David Draiman’s side project from Disturbed and it’s a great new band. They’re gearing up for Megadeth’s Gigantour and I got a chance to chat with Will.

Zoiks! Online Interviews: Foreigner’s Lou Gramm

0

I remember where I was the first time I heard “Juke Box Hero.” I was in high school; the song had been out for close to a decade. I was transitioning from grunge back to the 80’s. I was driving around in my ’88 Eagle Summit when it came on the classic rock station. That experience sent me straight to my local cd/record store where I purchased Foreigner’s Greatest Hits only to find out I knew every song on the disc. It was one of those magical musical moments that I will never forget. It was such an honor to speak with Lou Gramm about his up coming biography “Juke Box Hero: My Five Decades in Rock n Roll.”

Zoiks! Online Interviews: Symphony X & Adrenaline Mob’s Russell Allen

0

One of my favorite new bands is the “super group” comprised of Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) Mike Orlando, John Moyer (Disturbed) and Russell Allen (Symphony X). This year they released an EP full of covers entitled “Coverta.” They cover Dio 3 times, The Doors, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Heart just to name a few. They’re an amazing band full of amazing musicians who just happen to be really busy; hopefully they get the chance to dedicate 2013 to the Mob. I recently got the chance to chat with Russell Allen of Adrenaline Mob while he was on the golf course, check it out here.

On What Grounds 4 – Introducing the Shrek Game – For Adults

0

So you’re hanging out friends, having a conversation, playing some sort of truth or dare game and you end up talking about exhibitionist and dissertations about bisexuality. And you record it. That’s our podcast.

Fair warning: There are swear words

The conversation continues with whether Amy Schumer is hot or funny and the production value of Two Girls One Cup.

Lindsay and Bob once had a Sleep Number Bed. While Bob found his “number” and had the best sleep of his life, Lindsay never found hers and hated the bed. Bottom line, the bed wasn’t comfortable for sex, so it was thrown out.

We revisit Lindsay’s hysterectomy scar, which is healing nicely, despite her pulling her own stitches out.

Bob is working out and drinking fat flush water in an attempt to lose weight. It was going well until he went to McDonald’s for a grilled chicken sandwich and got someone else’s lunch. And, you know, sometimes you just got to drive away and enjoy someone else’s crispy chicken and fries.

And the girls admit they sometimes sabotage diets by ordering too much when eating out or junk food with groceries. The girls can take just a taste and pass it on to the boys. Pop. Fast food.

The Shrek game: The Shrek doll is passed around and everyone kisses the doll. From then on out it gets a little confusing. But the results are hilarious.

Love/hate: Bob is happy with Lindsay’s continuing recovery; Lindsay is happy with Bob’s yard work project; Beth loves sitting next to Josh at dinner; Josh is loving life but hates the Miami Heat; Beth hates flash drives; Lindsay hates the idea of planting a garden; and Bob hates when his response to a sext is rejected.

I Hate Critics Ep. 19 – The Great Gatsby, Mud and Tyler Perry’s The Great Peeples

0

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast, a movie podcast. Sorry it took so long to get episode 19 out. This week we talk about The Great Gatsby, Mud and Peeples, it was a pretty decent week for movies, but Iron Man 3 won the weekend again. We at I Hate Critics decided that Leonardo Dicaprio is the last movie star that actually draws people to the theater.

I Hate Critics Ep. 18 – Kiss Kiss Iron Man 3

0

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast, a movie podcast. So I sat on this episode an extra day because this week we discussed Iron Man 3. It is very difficult to discuss Iron Man 3 without spoiling it and since anybody that cares is going to see it this week we just thought we’d give you a little forewarning. We both liked Iron Man 3, but by the end of the show we were itching to watch Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

I Hate Critics Ep. 17 – The Big Wedding & Pain & Gain are Painful

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast, a movie podcast. Oh there is nothing like a crap week in movies to get the boys of I Hate Critics to talk Flash Dance, Adam Sandler, Eli Roth and Showgirls. The drinking game is on in full effect, so I recommend drinking a light beer.

On What Grounds 3 – Boston the Beautiful, America the Beautiful

0

We’re back with episode 3 of “On What Grounds,” a bonus episode of sorts. In this episode we threw our normal format out the window to talk about the Boston Marathon bombing and all the horrific events over the last several years and how this country appears to be getting stronger despite these horrible tragedies.

american-landscape-boston

We take on the 24-hour news networks and we dabble in the gun control debate. This will not be our typical podcast, we just had a lot on our minds regarding the bombing and we wanted to talk about it.
