Ted 2, RIP James Horner, Rose McGowan

0

On this episode of I Hate Critics two new movies were released. Ted 2 and Max. Both are underwhelming but Max more so than Ted 2. Ted 2 is just disappointing because Ted was so great. Like typical Seth Macfarlane Ted 2 has a handful of really funny moments mixed with lots of down time. It’s every bodies biggest complaint with Macfarlane. He’s funny but he can’t put a story together. Just ask the guys from South Park. Josh did like it a little more than Sean did. Max on the other hand is just a waste of time and money. Marine dog gets sent up because his owner dies and is now living with his owners little brother as they try to save the day against something. I started to zone out a little.

In the news:

R.I.P. James Horner,
Rose Mcgowan fired by her agent for calling out the casting director of an Adam Sandler movie because they gave her notes to show up to the audition with lots of cleavage visible.
Tom Holland is the new Spiderman
Ben Affleck may direct the next Batman movie

Our Undisputed Classic is Harvey starring Jimmy Stewart. Jimmy Stewart proves once again that he’s one of the greatest actors of all time.

In 1985 Clint Eastwood turns the western genre on its head with Pale Rider by subtly introducing a supernatural element to the western. Then St. Elmos Fire and Red Sonia came out as well.

Our trailers this week are:

Hitman: Agent 47
Dragon Blade

A Million Ways Bob Could Kick Denzel’s Ass

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. This week Sean and Josh see “Maleficent” and Sean and I see “A Million Ways to Die in the West.” The verdict is Jolie good, MacFarlane bad (Sean still thought he was funny). I’m not sure when, but at some point in the show I claim I can kick Denzel Washington’s ass…not sure how that even came up.

The Undisputed Classic is back and this week it’s arguably the best western of all time “Once Upon A Time in the West.” All three of love this movie.

In 1984 “Once Upon a Time in America” and “Star Trek III” came out.

Zac Efron Good, Jason Reitman Bad

Welcome to The I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. If you had told us that Zac Efron would be releasing a comedy opposite Jason Reitman’s new movie and that the Zac Efron comedy was good while the Jason Reitman movie was bad we may have killed you. Well that’s what happened. Jason Reitman finally struck out with “Labor Day” and Zac Efron was pretty decent in “That Awkward Moment.”

This episode of “I Hate Critics” was recorded before the terrible news about Phillip Seymour Hoffman, so we obviously did not address that horrible tragedy, but we will on next weeks episode.

Our undisputed classic is “Alphaville.” Josh caught “Alphaville” this week and really enjoyed it. It was a Sci-Fi twist on George Orwell’s “1984” and really ended up being the blueprint for films like “The Matrix” and “Dark City.”

Our trailers this week are:

Seth MacFarlanes “A Million Ways to Die in the West”
“Winter’s Tale”
“The Rover”
“Joe”/”Left Behind”
“The Zero Theorem”
