Undisputed Classic: The Stratton Story

San Andreas The Rock Fights an Earthquake & Cameron Crowe

0

San Andreas was this weeks big release. It’s basically The Rock fighting an earthquake. It’s highly entertaining while being highly offensive…which makes it hard for Sean to admit he likes it. Sean generally has no problem admitting to liking or disliking something but he was so offended by “San Andreas” that he was kind of embarrassed for having fun.

Cameron Crowe is back with “Aloha.” When the studio that made this movie trashes the movie via email then those emails go public a week before the movie comes out you know you’re in for a long day. The movies not complete. There’s something brilliant somewhere there but we’re not sure if it’s still in Cameron Crowe’s head or on the cutting room floor.

Have you seen Kung Fury yet…go see it as soon as you’re done with this podcast.

We asked our audience their favorite Cameron Crowe films. Among the movies selected we had “Untitled” or “Almost Famous,” “Say Anything” and “Singles.

Our Undisputed Classic was Cameron Crowe themed and we took a look at “Jerry Maguire,” “Elizabethtown” and “Pearl Jam 20.”

50 Shades of Grey

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. This week we are joined by the two more promiscuous members of the Mommy’s Cocktail Hour Podcast Tawny and Lindsay. They went and saw “50 Shades of Grey” to at least give us a female perspective on the film and we’re guys and we’re dumb. The movie wasn’t made for us but maybe it was made for them. A movie that was made for us was “The Kingsman.”

Inspired by the buzz that is “50 Shades of Grey” we chose “The Last Tango in Paris” as our Undisputed Classic.

1985 – A lot came out but only “The Breakfast Club” matters

Josh is a Man on Fire

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast. We watched two movies this week, Old Man Washington’s “The Equalizer,” and the family friendly “Box Trolls. “The Equalizer” over performed because it made more money than it’s worth and “The Box Trolls” under performed in that it was worth way more than it made.

This week Josh defends “Man on Fire” another Old Man Washington film. He loves the movies potential, Sean and I hate it because of it’s potential to be good.

In 1984 three some what small movies came out: “Heartbreakers,” Irreconcilable Differences,” “The Wild Life” which was written by Cameron Crowe

The Only One I Love

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast. This episode we talk about three new movies “As Above So Below,” “November Man” and “The One I Love.” Two of these movies received a theatrical release one did not. Two of these movies are dumb, one is not. Guess which one? “The One I Love” is great.

This week I (Bob) had to defend my hatred for “Vanilla Sky” or as I like to call it “Pretentious Sky.” I whole heartedly disagree with everything Sean and Josh say about this movie. But aside from attacking their character by calling them Tom Cruise apologists with a hard on for Cameron Crowe there is nothing I can say to change their mind.

In 1984 “C.H.U.D.” came out along with a couple other movies. Listener Jason from New Mexico has been on us to see this film since we started this podcast. Sean enjoyed how bad it was, I was on the internet the whole time while watching it and Josh fell asleep.
