Top Five 10 Commandments

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast.

This week we get “Exodus: Gods and Kings.” Sean claims this movie contains casual racism while Josh is just truly upset. Ridley Scott is Josh’s guy, “Blade Runner,” “Alien,” are two of his favorite movies and lets not forget about “Thelma and Louise,” “Black Hawk Down,” or even “American Gangster” and “Gladiator.” Ridley misses a lot and “Exodus” is one of those misses.

On a brighter note Chris Rock wrote, directed and starred in “Top Five” which is great. We’re all big Chris Rock fans, his movies aren’t always great, but it’s never for a lack of effort. “Top Five” is the best Chris Rock movie. Normally it’s the acting that holds a Chris Rock movie down, but bringing Rosario Dawson on board mixed with several A, B and C list cameos the acting is at worst not a distraction, but I’d argue that it’s top notch.

Then Al Pacino returns to form

Our Undisputed Classic this week is “The Ten Commandments.” This 3 hour plus snooze fest is good, but it’s kind of boring and desperately needs a reboot….by somebody like Ridley Scott…

1984 – Starman, Dune

22 Jump Street & Mexican Charlton Heston

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. This week the two big movies out our “22 Jump Street” and “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” Surprisingly the juvenile comedy kicked the dragons ass at the box office. There wasn’t a whole lot going on this week so we decided to choose in draft form our movie team using Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill movies. The results are as follows

Sean’s Team:

This is the End
The Lego Movie
Magic Mike
The Sitter
Wolf of Wall Street

Josh’s Team:

Public Enemies
Money Ball
How to Train Your Dragon
War of the Worlds
Don Jon

Bob’s Team:
The 40 Year Old Virgin
I Heart Huckabees
Knocked Up
Django Unchained

Our Undisputed Classic is the highly overrated “Touch of Evil.” Sean is the most forgiving but that’s only because he’s a film critic and he has to pretend to be (Sean doesn’t read these so I can say whatever I want)

Nothing of note came out in 1984
