The Hateful Eight

Welcome to this weeks episode of the I Hate Critics Podcast where we do not talk about Star Wars. Instead we drove 3 hours to see Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. Then we decided to record the podcast in the car…I apologize if the sound isn’t as good as it normally is. Obviously we talk about The Hateful Eight but we also take on Concussion, The Big Short, Joy, Sisters and I think that’s it. Ultimately it was a good week for movies.

This week we’ve got two new movies. Our first movie is the latest installment in the James Bond universe and that’s Spectre. Our resident film critic didn’t not like it, but neither did our resident Bond fan. In fact we spend most of the movie going through the history of James Bond and picking it apart and talking about what works, what worked and what’s wrong. We then move on to The Peanuts Movie which Sean and I both adored, but I couldn’t help troll it a little….just a little.

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast.

It’s award season and the holiday season so a shit ton of movies came out. “The Interview” was the one we were all talking about and it sort of came out…on demand. “Unbroken” surprised the box office and may have injected some new life into itself. The “imitation Game” is a solid movie that would be better if it didn’t have so much hype behind it. “Into the Woods” flat out sucks and might be one of the worst movies of the year. “Big Eyes” is a solid effort by Tim Burton and “The Gambler” is a good movie that everybody has forgotten about.

This week Sean Defends his love for the Academy Award Winning “Chicago” which doesn’t really make sense but Josh and I don’t like musicals so we made him do it.

The Critical Force Awakens

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast.

This week is kind of a throw away week. “Horrible Bosses 2” came out and was funny but forgettable, but really wasn’t the first one too? I would say that’s high praise for a movie like “Horrible Bosses 2.” Then there is the “Penguins of Madagascar.” This movie exists and we’re not the audience for it, but it is something to listen to Sean insult children.

Sean saw the horror film “Babadook” and had some real high praise for that movie. He even said it may be the best female performance of the year by Essie Davis. Then Josh saw “Plastic Galaxy” and nobody including Josh cared.
