Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. Sadly we’re already at the halfway point of 2014, where did the time go? The three of us discuss our top movies so far of 2014. Common films in the top five included “Enemy,” “Under the Skin,” and “Chef.” As well as “Captain American” and “Cheap Thrills.” Other than that it hasn’t been the greatest year in movies.
Continuing with that trend is Clint Eastwood’s “Jersey Boys” which contains many magical moments but in between those magical moments is a lot of down time. At least we got the very entertaining “Think Like A Man Too,” a pretty bad movie with a great cast to make up for it.
On this weeks Does it Hold Up segment we discuss “The English Patient.” Sadly we all agree that it’s probably a good movie, we just don’t like watching it…does that even make sense?
This week in 1984 “The Karate Kid” was released. Along with “The Karate Kid” was “Rhinestone” and “The Pope of Greenwich Village.”
The Judge – Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall
Love is Strange – John Lithgow, Alfred Molina, Marisa Tomei
The Two Faces of January – Viggo Mortenson
Dear White People
Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. This week the two big movies out our “22 Jump Street” and “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” Surprisingly the juvenile comedy kicked the dragons ass at the box office. There wasn’t a whole lot going on this week so we decided to choose in draft form our movie team using Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill movies. The results are as follows
This is the End
The Lego Movie
Wolf of Wall Street
How to Train Your Dragon
War of the Worlds
The 40 Year Old Virgin
I Heart Huckabees
Our Undisputed Classic is the highly overrated “Touch of Evil.” Sean is the most forgiving but that’s only because he’s a film critic and he has to pretend to be (Sean doesn’t read these so I can say whatever I want)
Nothing of note came out in 1984
Dumb and Dumber To
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Podcast. This week there two new movies out, Insidious Chapter 2 and The Family. Sean liked Insidious but said that you really need to see and like the first installment to enjoy the second. The Family was fine, but Sean doesn’t think he can recommend it.
This weeks ‘Undisputed and still reigning Classic’ is 8 ½.
In this week in 1983 The Big Chill came out. We compare The Big Chill to Reality Bites and Garden State as movies of a generation
