Samurai Monks in Space

This week we’ve got three new movies this week, No Escape, We Are Friends, Diary of a Teenage Girl. No Escape and We Are Friends are kind of let downs. No Escape is a movie where you just really never believe the main characters are in danger, but you’re supposed to…i.e. the main characters don’t die, you know they’re not gonna die but your supposed to be scared for them…it’s a let down. We Are Friends is ok, but Wes Bentley is so good in the movie that whenever he’s not on the screen you just want more Wes Bentley and since he’s a small character you spend most of the time wishing he were there which is not good for this movie.

Please Go See “Gone Girl”

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast. This week quite possibly the best movie of the year came out, “Gone Girl.” This movie has jumped David Fincher to the best working director in my opinion. I think Josh shares that point of view as well. “Gone Girl” is so good that I want you to see so we can talk about it.

Also “Annabelle” came out. Only Sean saw it and he hates ghost stories, so he hated “Annabelle.” Then there was “Left Behind” and it wasn’t even fun bad. It was just a mess…sorry about that.

It’s October so we’re going to knock out a couple of horror films and we’re gonna start with 1922’s “Nosferatu.” All three of us loved it and agreed that technology has ruined horror films.

In 1984 “Stranger than Paradise,” “Teacher,” ‘The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of Yik Yak”
