22 Jump Street & Mexican Charlton Heston

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. This week the two big movies out our “22 Jump Street” and “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” Surprisingly the juvenile comedy kicked the dragons ass at the box office. There wasn’t a whole lot going on this week so we decided to choose in draft form our movie team using Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill movies. The results are as follows

images

Sean’s Team:

This is the End
The Lego Movie
Magic Mike
The Sitter
Wolf of Wall Street

Josh’s Team:

Public Enemies
Money Ball
How to Train Your Dragon
War of the Worlds
Don Jon

Bob’s Team:
Superbad
The 40 Year Old Virgin
I Heart Huckabees
Knocked Up
Django Unchained

Our Undisputed Classic is the highly overrated “Touch of Evil.” Sean is the most forgiving but that’s only because he’s a film critic and he has to pretend to be (Sean doesn’t read these so I can say whatever I want)

Nothing of note came out in 1984

“Monuments Men” also came out this week with an amazing cast, George Clooney, Matt Damon, John Goodman, Cate Blanchett and Bill Murray. The cast was amazing the movie was just all right. “Vampire Academy” was a waste of time. Another stupid vampire movie trying to reach the teen girls and the 30 something moms…grow up people. Then there’s “The Lego Movie” and Sean loves it and Josh is disappointed.

Josh watched “Shame” to check out Steve McQueen’s work. Sean didn’t like, Josh was affected by it and then they go on to argue over how hot Michael Fassbender is. We also talk about “The Apartment” starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacClaine and Don Jon.

Our trailers this week are:

“Sabotage”
“Hector and the Search for Happiness”
“Divergent”
“Maladies”
“Odd Thomas”

Travis Bickle and the Whisker Biscuit

Welcome to The 1st Episode in 2014 of I Hate Critics. We’ve got a whole movie to talk about in “Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.” The movie should suck, but Sean found the movie much better than he thought it would be. We do what we can to stretch this episode out, so we took a list of the top 10 Sci Fi movies as chosen by scientists…then we crap all over how lazy this list is.

Our undisputed classic is Martin Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver.” We spend most of the podcast talking about this film. “Taxi Driver” is one of the best films of all time and is a must see for all film buffs.

1984 is one of the best years for movies and it got kicked off with a bang with the hit “Angel.” An honor’s student by day, a prostitute by night…sounds good right?

Our trailers this week are:

“Tom’s Restaurant”
“The Raid 2: Berandal”
“Kung Fury”
“Draft Day”
“The Amazing Spiderman 2”
“Veronica Mars”

2013 Year in Review: The Wolf of Wall Street & Grudge Match

0

Welcome to The I Hate Critics 2013 year in review. First we’re going to talk about Justin Bieber’s “Believe.” It was dumb so we moved on to the highly anticipated “Grudge Match.” Sean liked it!!!! “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” divides Sean and Josh. “The Wolf of Wall Street” pisses both Sean and Bob while Josh watched Keanu Reeve’s career flash before his eyes.

I Haven’t Watched Porn Since Seeing Don Jon

0

Welcome to The I Hate Critics Movie Podcast. This week saw the release of four films. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, Don Jon, Rush & Baggage Claim. Rush, Cloudy and Don Jon are great movies unfortunately Cloudy a kids movie and Don Jon a movie about porn came out in the same week. They just don’t belong in the same podcast…unless your podcast is I Hate Critics.

The ‘Undisputed Classic’ is Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window. Josh doesn’t dispute the story, but claims the movie doesn’t hold up. Sean allows Rear Window to keep its classic status for the simple fact that it’s been ripped off so many times.

In this week in 1983 uh it was a weird year, so nothing this week.
