Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation

0

We’ve got two new movies this week. Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation and Vacation. Mission: Impossible cleaned up during the weekend box office bringing in $58 million. Both Sean and Josh loved Mission: Impossible, they claim it’s the best action movie of the year. There’s no way that’s true because Mad Max Fury Road came out this year but whatever. Vacation really upset Sean. I personally had no problem with it. It’s not as memorable as its predecessors, but to me it’s hard to say something is or is not funny. If it’s funny to somebody then it’s funny. You can’t define funny.

Women are under paid in Hollywood

This week only one new movie came out and it was “Hot Pursuit” starring Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara. It’s not a great movie but that mixed with a series of articles lead us to the discussion of equal pay for women in Hollywood. We try to explain why they’re not paid equally but ultimately come back to the fact that they should be. It’s not just Hollywood, it’s all over the world, but why not start in Hollywood at least.

Our Undisputed Classic was actually a Cult Classic Guantlet that Sean laid down before Josh and I. We were tasked to check out the Netflix Cult Classic section and each check out a movie for the first time. Sean loved “Goon,” I appreciated and “Reanimator” and Josh loathed “Wet Hot American Summer” despite the fact that both Sean and I love the flick.

I Hate Critics Ep. 30 – Two Grown Men Talking about Smurfs

0

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast, a movie podcast. How can two grown men talk about Smurfs 2 for an hour? Sean and I had wondered how long we could go and we went about ten minutes…which is a long time considering. We also talked about Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington in 2 Guns (a much better flick).

30 Years and one week ago National Lampoons Vacation came out and 30 years ago we got Risky Business, two of the more memorable films to appear in our 30 year segment. I (Bob) gave GI Joe the sleep test and ultimately just turned it off. I did the same with Francis Ford Coppola’s Twixt, but I plan on giving that another shot down the line.
