Fantasy Movie Draft

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast. This episode only one new movie came out and I don’t know why it came out so we had to scramble to fill time. Sean had been sitting on this idea of a Fantasy Movie Draft so we spend the first half of the podcast drafting movies for the fall and winter box office and award season, so be sure to check our Facebook page for results of that.
The movie that came out this week is called “The Identical” and it is perhaps one of the worst ideas I’ve ever heard. I don’t know how this movie was made let alone released…theatrically, but it was and you have to hear Sean praise this movie.
Because there was only one movie we doubled up on our segments and did a Does it Hold Up film with ‘Forrest Gump” and a Defend It film “Cabin Fever.” I (Bob) liked “Cabin Fever” but I was alone and we all despised “Forrest Gump”

Welcome to The I Hate Critics. The Golden Globes are over, as are the Critics Choice Awards, The Screen Actor’s Guild and the Oscars have made their nominations. We talk about it with excitement then unfortunately move onto “Devil’s Due,” “Ride Along,” “The Nut Job” and “Jake Ryan: The Shadow Recruit”
Our undisputed classic is “The Tree of Life.” Josh absolutely loves this movie, as does Sean. I’m kind of an idiot and I hate it for the exact same reason Josh and Sean love it…although they’d probably say I don’t get it.
This week in 1984 “The Buddy System” and “Scandalous” came out and then went away.
Our trailers this week are:
“Adult World”
“Anita”
“Californian Schemer”
“Mr. Peabody and Sherman”

Proceed with the Execution

Welcome to The I Hate Critics Podcast. This week we talk “The Hobbit,” “A Madea Christmas” and “Nebraska.” We mostly talk about “The Hobbit” though. Let me rephrase that, Josh and Sean mostly talk about “The Hobbit” while I take a nap and cough into the microphone from time to time. Also “Nebraska” is really good, but you’re probably not going to see it.
Our Undisputed Classic was “African Queen.” Humphrey Bogart won a life time achievement award for this film. If any self respected actor gave the performance Mr. Bogart gave, they’d be run out of town. We’ve all seen it. I struggle to describe this movie when Josh swoops in to save the day.
In 1983 “Silkwood” and “Gorky Park” came out. If you’re going to go back and check out some movies from 1983, these are two great movies to start with. “Silkwood” is one of Meryl Streep’s more underestimated performances. It’s a heart breaking movie. “Gorky Park” has a terrible name, but it’s good too. On a side note Bon Jovi took a band named Gorky Park under their wing in the late 80’s but that didn’t last long.
Our Trailers are:
“Interstellar”
“Jupitar Ascending”
“Edge of Tomorrow”
“Bad Words”
“Godzilla”
“The Knights of Badassdom”
“The Fantastic Fear of Everything”
