Welcome to the bonus I Hate Critics Movie Review podcast. This episode I got to chat with the star of “The Devil’s Rejects” Diamond Dallas Page. He’s got a new movie coming out called “The Resurrection of Jake Roberts.” Diamond Dallas Page took Jake “The Snake” Roberts under his wing…moved him into his house and helped him change his life. During the process Scott Hall’s life was changed in similar fashion and hundreds of thousands of people around the world including me.
We don’t just talk about DDP Yoga and “The Resurrection of Jake the Snake,” we also talk about other movies including “Beyond the Mat,” “Food Inc,” “Fed Up,” “Genetic Roulette,” Kevin Smith’s “Red State,” and of course Rob Zombie’s “The Devil’s Rejects. Dallas explains to essentially Sean why it’s ok to enjoy “The Devil’s Rejects.”
Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. This week not much came out. Will Smith made a con movie called Focus. It’s fine, but like most cons, the con is sloppy and it’s not necessarily entertaining enough to take your focus off of the con like “Oceans 11.” Then there was a horror film called “Lazarus Effect” that Josh hated so much he called it potentially the worst movie he’s ever seen.
Our beloved/hated film critic Sean Patrick had a near death experience this week. He had a massive asthma attack that put him in the hospital for six days. At one point he actually lost the ability to breath and had to have machines breath for him for several hours. He’s back and he’s doing better so hopefully he stays that way.
We lost Leonard Nimoy famous as Spock from “Star Trek.” RIP Spock, “Live long in prosper.”
The Academy Award winning film “Still Alice” also got released in theaters. Julianne Moore won best actress. Sean thinks it was a great performance, but had three or four other performances he preferred. Sean compared it to a Lifetime movie with great acting.
Our Undisputed Classic is “The Sting.” Stars Robert Redford and Paul Newman make “The Sting” highly entertaining. Josh loved it the most, Sean tried to pick it a part and Bob enjoyed it.
1985 – Several movies came out. The best two movies are Woody Allen’s “Purple Rose of Cairo,” and John Cusak in “The Sure Thing.”
