Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. We’ve got a brand new website, a brand new iTunes logo. We’re launching a campaign on iTunes to get more ratings and reviews. If you rate and review our podcast you’ll be entered into a contest where you can win:

An autographed DVD of “Cadaver Christmas”
Jeff Bridges and the Abider’s Live CD
A Movie poster from A24 Distribution
Two tickets to the movie of your choice

We will also give out five additional signed copies of “A Cadaver Christmas” as well as the the chance to produce a bonus episode. What does that mean? It means you decide the movies we talk about.

and if we can get 100 reviews we’ll throw in a year long subscription to Netflix.

This week “Dumb and Dumber To” came out and knocked “Big Hero 6” out of the top spot. We also got the chance to see “Birdman.” Sean also had to watch Kirk Camerson’s “Saving Christmas.” Then we may or may not talk about a movie called “Beyond the Lights.” See I’m writing these notes before we ever recorded the podcast this week, so we will see.

Since we got to see “Birdman” this week we decided to ask, does 1989’s “Batman” hold up?

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. This week the two big movies out our “22 Jump Street” and “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” Surprisingly the juvenile comedy kicked the dragons ass at the box office. There wasn’t a whole lot going on this week so we decided to choose in draft form our movie team using Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill movies. The results are as follows

images

Sean’s Team:

This is the End
The Lego Movie
Magic Mike
The Sitter
Wolf of Wall Street

Josh’s Team:

Public Enemies
Money Ball
How to Train Your Dragon
War of the Worlds
Don Jon

Bob’s Team:
Superbad
The 40 Year Old Virgin
I Heart Huckabees
Knocked Up
Django Unchained

Our Undisputed Classic is the highly overrated “Touch of Evil.” Sean is the most forgiving but that’s only because he’s a film critic and he has to pretend to be (Sean doesn’t read these so I can say whatever I want)

Nothing of note came out in 1984

Remembering Paul Walker

0

Welcome to The I Hate Critics Podcast. This week we mourn the loss of Paul Walker by asking our in house critic how he mourns actors he’s said horrible things about. We then jump into the Nelson Mandela bio pic and talk Wonder Woman before discussing how they move forward with “Fast 7.”

All three of us managed to get to the theater for “Out of the Furnace” and we all felt upbeat when the flick was over. It’s one of the most grim, bleak, depressing movies out there, but it’s compelling. I can’t describe how good it was like Sean can so turn the podcast on and listen. There are no spoilers in this segment, but when we talk “All is Lost” we do spoil it however it sounds like the ending is open to interpretation.

Our Undisputed Classic was “Duck Soup” from The Marx Brothers. Josh and Sean giggled like school girls talking about this one. I felt left out, so I just thought about how all the character’s in this movie had the same name as the characters in “The Devil’s Rejects,” which was something Roger Ebert loved.

In 1983 “Scarface” and “Sudden Impact” came out. We tear into “Scarface” as none of us like that movie. I think it’s long and boring, Josh doesn’t like that it’s hanging up on the walls of dumbasses and Sean doesn’t understand why so many people worship this movie, he dies in a pile of cocaine and wants to sleep with his sister. Now “Sudden Impact?” Great fun film.

Our Trailers are:

“Reasonable Doubt”

“Barefoot”

“Nurse 3D”

“Dom Hemingway”

“Tracks”

“The Amazing Spiderman 2”

I Hate Critics Ep. 32 – Kick Ass 2, Jobs, Lee Daniels The Butler and Paint By Numbers er I mean Paranoia

0

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast, a movie podcast. Another four movies came out in the same week. This week four completely different movies came out, you had the sequel (Kick Ass 2), the awards contender (Lee Daniels The Butler), the wanna be awards contender (Jobs) and the paint by numbers movie you’ll quickly forget (see I already forgot).

Based on the source material I wasn’t expecting this to be that good of a podcast, I thought we’d just be podcasting by numbers, but it ended up being one of out better shows. Sean and I had good conversation and we inadvertently went a little long. The big news this week is that we finally have a website. Hopefully you’re reading this there, but it’s www.ihatecritics.net. Bookmark and join in on the conversation.

I Hate Critics Ep. 11 – Critics are People Too!

This Episode is dedicated to Suellen Kernan

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast, a movie podcast. “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” came out this weekend and flopped. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad movie according to Sean Patrick. Sean admits Halle Berry’s career isn’t dead as she makes 2/3’s of a good movie with “The Call.”

Christian Slater and Christopher Walken made a movie…enough said.

Bob has a renewed interest in “Spring Breakers.” Let’s just call it intrigue. Sean will see it if he has to, but if it’s you job to watch movies, any movie you don’t have to see that you see, you’re doing on your own time.
