Next Week: Aladdin, Booksmart, Brightburn
Undisputed Classic: Aladdin 1989: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade & Pink Cadillac
Thanks for listening to the I Hate Critics Podcast. This week “St. Vincent” finally came out and it was good. It probably could have been better, but it was as good as it was because of Bill Murray. America disappointed us by going to see “Ouija.” Keanu Reeve’s “John Wick” is actually pretty good.
Our “Does it Hold Up” Movie is “The Blair Witch Project.” This movie is completely polarizing. Sean and Bob consider this one of the great horror movies of all time while Josh hates it. We have some fun with this.
In 1984 “The Terminator” came out.
Avengers 2: Age of Ultron
Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast. We watched four new films this week. “No Good Deed” won the box office, so as of right now we are all tied in the Fantasy Movie Draft at 0. “The Drop” starring Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini was ok, it’d have been better if Ben Affleck directed it. “Dolphin Tale 2” exists. Then there was “About Alex,” my generations “The Big Chill.”
Our Undisputed Classic was Buster Keaton’s “The General.” While this movie treats the South as the “good guys” in the Civil War it’s insanely impressive what they pulled off back in the mid 20’s. This is like a “Road Runner” cartoon only with real people and real life stunts. For a silent picture it’s pretty watchable.
In 1984 three movies came out that I bet Josh doesn’t watch by the end of the year.
