Welcome to The I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. Our March Movie Madness has made it to the final four with “Rocky” squaring off against “Almost Famous” and “Fight Club” taking on “Field of Dreams.” This week saw the film “Noah” wash away the competition (so dumb) with a great box office week, but not a great movie…not a bad movie, but just big budget blockbuster, not something you’d expect from Darren Aronofsky, but definitely something you’d expect from Russell Crowe. At least it wasn’t “Sabotage,” because according to Sean and the rest of the free world…that movie sucked.
The best movie to come out in our neck of the woods is “Bad Words” according to Sean. First time director Jason Bateman knocked it out of the park, so that’s exciting. I spent four hours late Saturday night watching both volumes 1 and 2 of Lars Von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac.” I can’t decide if it’s good or bad, but it’s intriguing. I feel like whether you liked it or hated it, Von Trier got his point across and that’s all you can really ask for.
This week there was also a great article over at www.rogerebert.com begging film critics to actually talk about filmmaking rather than just how they (the critic) was affected emotionally by the movie, which Sean blamed on Harry Knowles and 9-11.
Our Undisputed Classic this week is “Breathless.” This movie left Josh breathless (sorry I got nothing). Actually Sean left Josh “Breathless” after Sean talked about how much he loved this film.
In 1984 “Romancing the Stone” came out. Josh and Sean love this film while I am sick of it for the same reasons they love it…go figure.
Trailers this week:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Jupiter Ascending
Hercules
Phantasm V

So…Yeah, Riddick was pretty good

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Podcast. This week there was only one new movie to hit the theater and that was Riddick. I thought for sure this was going to be a short podcast, but we had four irrelevant conversations that caused the podcast to run a little long. I did cut one of the conversations, but the other three were so good I had to leave them in. We spent a good 20 minutes on Riddick before introducing our new segment ‘Undisputed Classics.’
This weeks ‘Undisputed and still reigning Classic’ is The Wild Bunch.
In this week in 1983 Revenge of the Ninja came out…in case you were wondering.
Josh Adams from The Film Fan Perspective joins us again. http://filmfanperspective.wordpress.com He saw Riddick and then derailed the show bad mouthing Ben Affleck, but it’s ok, if it wasn’t entertaining I’d have cut it.
We have a contest this week. Sean, Bob and Josh came up with six actors and we want you to come up with a tagline, plot or story line involving the six actors.
