Black Mass and the Best Crime Movies

This week we’ve got five new movies. The number one move of the week was the cash grab Maze Runner sequel called Maze Runner 2 The Scorch Trials. Black Mass was a well directed well acted film that’s kind of boring. I think it has more to do with the fact that there is a great documentary out there about Whitey Bulger that is better than this movie not to mention that The Departed is loosely based on this subject matter and is a far more entertaining film. It’s hard to be critical, but we were all bored. Everest is a movie that turns idiots into heroes and that pisses Sean off. Grandma may be the best movie of the week but close behind is Captive. If you’re going to see any movies this week we recommend Grandma or Captive.
Our Top Five this week is mob/crime movies: Our discussion includes The Godfather, The Godfather Part 2, Pulp Fiction, Good Fellas, LA Confidential, Miller’s Crossing, The Untouchables, and many more.
Our Undisputed Classic is L’adventura. It’s another Michelangelo Antonioni film that truly is an experience. You may not like the experience but we did. It’s a movie that just marches to it’s own beat. So many movies feel the need to follow a formula but not Antonioni. You can check this movie out on Hulu Plus.
In 1985 we take on Creator
Our trailers this week are:

We’ve got five new movies this week: The Fantastic Four, Ricki and the Flash, Shaun the Sheep, The Gift, and Irrational Man. The Fantastic Four was boring and poorly directed but the director blames the studio and oh yeah Josh liked it. Both The Gift and an Irrational Man are must sees according Sean. I wish I could go see both of these. Sean sold them well. Rick and the Flash received mixed reviews on the show. Sean really disliked it and Josh really liked it. Because of Ricki and the Flash we asked our audience what their top five favorite movies about rock n roll. Included in those lists is Almost Famous, Once, This is Spinal Tap, Rock n Roll High School, High Fidelity, School of Rock, The Runaways, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Blues Brothers, The Harder They Come, Begin Again, La Bamba, Empire Records and The Doors.
Our Undisputed Classic is A Hard Day’s Night
In 1985 Summer Rental, Mr Science Project, Dance with a Stranger
