Ted 2, RIP James Horner, Rose McGowan

On this episode of I Hate Critics two new movies were released. Ted 2 and Max. Both are underwhelming but Max more so than Ted 2. Ted 2 is just disappointing because Ted was so great. Like typical Seth Macfarlane Ted 2 has a handful of really funny moments mixed with lots of down time. It’s every bodies biggest complaint with Macfarlane. He’s funny but he can’t put a story together. Just ask the guys from South Park. Josh did like it a little more than Sean did. Max on the other hand is just a waste of time and money. Marine dog gets sent up because his owner dies and is now living with his owners little brother as they try to save the day against something. I started to zone out a little.

In the news:

R.I.P. James Horner,
Rose Mcgowan fired by her agent for calling out the casting director of an Adam Sandler movie because they gave her notes to show up to the audition with lots of cleavage visible.
Tom Holland is the new Spiderman
Ben Affleck may direct the next Batman movie

Our Undisputed Classic is Harvey starring Jimmy Stewart. Jimmy Stewart proves once again that he’s one of the greatest actors of all time.

In 1985 Clint Eastwood turns the western genre on its head with Pale Rider by subtly introducing a supernatural element to the western. Then St. Elmos Fire and Red Sonia came out as well.

Our trailers this week are:

Hitman: Agent 47
Dragon Blade

Peter Berg #WetTShirtContest

Welcome to The I Hate Critics. It’s award season so lets talk about the comedy of the year “Hercules.” “Hercules” should have advertised itself as a comedy. This is a wanna bee “300” with no fun. “Lone Survivor” took a real life story and took it a little too “Ramboy.” Then Bob goes on to wonder what every movie would look like if Peter Berg directed it.

Speaking of disappointment, “August: Osage County.” It’s probably good on the stage, but not so much on the screen. Sean’s top two movies of the year are “Her” and “Inside Llewyn Davis.” Josh and I can’t argue with him. Both movies are award worthy. We had such a good time talking about these two films.

Our undisputed classic is “Amelie.” This is a romantic comedy that is also an art film. Everybody I know that has seen this loves this movie and it surprises me that they love this movie, but it really is that good.

This week in 1984 a soft-core porn named “Hot Dog…The Movie.” There was a wet t-shirt contest in it. Our contest this week is to come up with a movie that made it to the theater that includes a wet t shirt contest since “Real Cancun” not including “Piranha 3D.”

Our trailers this week are:

“G.B.F.”
“Kite”
“Kick Ass”
“Galapagos Affair: Satan Came to Eden”
“Life Itself”

Travis Bickle and the Whisker Biscuit

Welcome to The 1st Episode in 2014 of I Hate Critics. We’ve got a whole movie to talk about in “Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.” The movie should suck, but Sean found the movie much better than he thought it would be. We do what we can to stretch this episode out, so we took a list of the top 10 Sci Fi movies as chosen by scientists…then we crap all over how lazy this list is.

Our undisputed classic is Martin Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver.” We spend most of the podcast talking about this film. “Taxi Driver” is one of the best films of all time and is a must see for all film buffs.

1984 is one of the best years for movies and it got kicked off with a bang with the hit “Angel.” An honor’s student by day, a prostitute by night…sounds good right?

Our trailers this week are:

“Tom’s Restaurant”
“The Raid 2: Berandal”
“Kung Fury”
“Draft Day”
“The Amazing Spiderman 2”
“Veronica Mars”

“Thor 2” The Coincidental World

Welcome to “I Hate Critics” The World’s Greatest Movie Podcast. The next installment of “The Avengers” franchise was released in “Thor: The Dark World.” While the movie is fine if you turn your brain off, it is full of holes that will make it hard for some to get past. Ultimately the movie was just a set up for the next “Avengers” film rather than a movie on its own. “About Time” is another film that came out this weekend. It’s a romantic comedy that is watchable for both genders.

The ‘Undisputed Classic’ is “Blade Runner.” Josh is a Ridley Scott nut and “Blade Runner” is probably his finest work. It’s certainly his biggest cult classic. Does that make it an “Undisputed Classic?” I think so, but who am I?

In movie news the original director for “Jane’s Got a Gun” is being sued. “The Wolverine” is getting a direct sequel, “Gravity” is the number one film in the history of October and David Cronenberg called Stanley Kubrick a hack…sort of.

Check out our trailers this week: “These Final Hours,” “Lone Survivor,” “Winter’s Tale,” “A Case of You,” “The Raid 2,” “Lucky McKee’s All Cheerleaders Die,” and “The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug.”
