Taken on a Plane, Jesus’ Greatest Hits

0

Welcome to The I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. This week Liam Neeson beats Jesus and they both beat the Lego Movie. Liam Neeson comes back with “Non-Stop” which is basically “Taken” on a plane. It’s dumb but fun. “Son of God” is a bunch of Hollywood types cashing in on Christians. They’ve released a terrible product knowing that Christians will buy it. “Son of God” is a repackaged version of the TV Miniseries “The Bible.” They’ve already seen it and they’re going out to see it again.

Oh and “Anchorman 2” was rereleased for a week and this time it was rated R.

You chose our Undisputed Classic this week and you chose David Fincher’s “Fight Club.” We broke rules number 1 and 2 and we talk about “Fight Club.”

In 1984 “Against All Odds,” “Repo Man” and “This is Spinal Tap” was released. Josh really hates “Against All Odds” and Bob and Sean like “This is Spinal Tap” and “Repo Man” is a movie I guess.

Trailers this week:

Dark House
The Double
Godzilla
Art of the Steal
Enemy

Josh and Bob watched a bunch of movies this week. “The Dallas Buyer’s Club,” “American Hustle,” “12 Years a Slave,” “Blue Jasmine,” “Nebraska” and more. At the end of the show we talk about these again.

Did He Just Say Steven Spielberg is a Hack?

Welcome to “I Hate Critics” The World’s Greatest Movie Podcast. This episode we talk “Carrie,” “Fifth Estate” and “Escape Plan.” In short, “Carrie’s” fine, “Fifth Estate” is blah and “Escape Plan” is Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in a movie together.

This episode it was me (Bob Zerull), Film Critic Sean Patrick, Josh Adams from the Film Fan Perspective.

The ‘Undisputed Classic’ is “The Bridge On the River Kwai.” Josh had to sit through this thing. During his viewing he noticed several shots from this film that Steven Spielberg has ripped off over the years…or was Spielberg paying homage? If it were anybody else we’d say ripped off…just saying.

In this week in 1983 we got “The Right Stuff,” “All the Right Moves,” “The Dead Zone” and “The Osterman Weekend.” Thirty years later “Gravity” is still number one and a new movie based on a Stephen King novel is out in “Carrie.”
