The Critics Are Wrong, Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice is Good

0

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. On this 194th episode of the podcast we talk about Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice for the second time. We briefly talk about My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, but then we move onto our third annual March Movie Madness tournament. This year we took sixteen movies, some of which were suggested by the audience and between the three of us decided which movies moved on to the next round. The only requirement was that we had to pick movies we’d never talked about on the podcast before…or at least movies we don’t remember talking about.

Batman-v-Superman-Dawn-of-Justice-poster

The movies were:

Citizen Kane vs Paths of Glory
Swingers vs Gross Pointe Blank
Good Will Hunting vs Punch Drunk Love
LA Confidential vs The Verdict
Fargo vs O’ Brother Where Art Thou
Glengarry Glen Ross vs Hard Candy
Waking Live vs Monsieur Lazhar
The Silence of the Lambs vs Phantasm

Let us know where we messed up.

The Big Lebowski 2: Inherent Vice

0

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. This week “Taken 3” came out. At some point I mention that I’m pretty sure I could take Liam Neeson and that’s my biggest problem with the “Taken” movies. But what I’m excited to talk about is “Selma” and “Inherent Vice.” Two of the best movies of the year got wide releases this week. I also finally saw “Boyhood.”

InherentVice

The “Golden Globes” were this week, but we recorded before the show, so you’ll get our take next week.

Our Undisputed Classic is “Annie Hall.” My biggest problem with Woody Allen movies prior to seeing them is that I don’t by Woody Allen being with these beautiful women, but once you watch these movies you never question it for a second. “Annie Hall” has been remade so many times since it’s come out that it’s impossible to appreciate what it was when it first came out. But it’s a great movie and very easy to watch.

1985 – “Avenging Angel,” “Tuff Turf,”

and if we can get 100 reviews we’ll throw in a year long subscription to Netflix.

Birdman-Poster

This week “Dumb and Dumber To” came out and knocked “Big Hero 6” out of the top spot. We also got the chance to see “Birdman.” Sean also had to watch Kirk Camerson’s “Saving Christmas.” Then we may or may not talk about a movie called “Beyond the Lights.” See I’m writing these notes before we ever recorded the podcast this week, so we will see.

Since we got to see “Birdman” this week we decided to ask, does 1989’s “Batman” hold up?
