This week we’ve got two new movies: Straight Outta Compton and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Straight Outta Compton is a phenomenal movie. It’s come out at the perfect time. Just like hip hop in general this movie is not going to get the credit it deserves when Oscar season comes around. The performances are incredible. This movie is on par with films like Ray and Walk the Line. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is a good movie that you’re going to forget by next week, classic Guy Ritchie.

This weeks episode is a downer. Pixels disappoints, Southpaw & Paper Towns are to formulaic. Mr. Holmes is great but nobody has seen it. Adam Sandler is almost single handedly the only thing wrong with Pixels and that breaks my heart. I want to accuse Sean of being a dumb critics, but his audience didn’t even go and see Pixels so I can’t defend Sandler. Jake Gyllenhaal is amazing in Southpaw, but the movie is kind of dumb. It was written for Eminem and oddly enough would have been a better movie if Eminem was in the movie. It’s all Gyllenhaal’s fault. Paper Towns is fine. Again we’ve seen it before, it’s a formula. It’s forgettable which kind of makes it worse than a bad movie. At least its not Fault in Our Stars or something by Nicolas Sparks. Then there is Mr. Holmes starring Ian McKellan as Sherlock Holmes. Mr. Holmes is such a unique interesting movie that everyone should go see right now.
Our Undisputed Classic is Rebel Without A Cause. Sean explains why this movie has held up and is such a great classic. I had a hard time getting into it but I can’t argue against anything Sean says. He even does a pretty good job of explaining why I don’t think it holds up.
