This week “Interstellar” and “Big Hero 6” came out. I kind of think it was a disappointing week in a way. Josh loved “Interstellar,” Sean had an appreciation for it but ultimately we weren’t the biggest fans. “Big Hero 6” was fine but it didn’t soar.

This week we defend “Prometheus” well Josh does, but Sean goes rouge and rips it to shreds.

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast. We watched four new films this week. “No Good Deed” won the box office, so as of right now we are all tied in the Fantasy Movie Draft at 0. “The Drop” starring Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini was ok, it’d have been better if Ben Affleck directed it. “Dolphin Tale 2” exists. Then there was “About Alex,” my generations “The Big Chill.”

Our Undisputed Classic was Buster Keaton’s “The General.” While this movie treats the South as the “good guys” in the Civil War it’s insanely impressive what they pulled off back in the mid 20’s. This is like a “Road Runner” cartoon only with real people and real life stunts. For a silent picture it’s pretty watchable.

In 1984 three movies came out that I bet Josh doesn’t watch by the end of the year.

Does “Crash” Still Suck?

0

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. Three new movies were released this Fourth of July weekend. Melissa McCarthy’s “Tammy” came out to a mixed reaction. Sean and I both enjoyed the film, however the trailers were selling us on a different movie then “Tammy” ended up being…oh well. “Deliver Us From Evil” turned out to be just another possession movie, but a fairly competent one. Finally “Earth to Echo” kind of missed with the whole found footage thing, but I’m sure kids will like it.

This weeks “Does it Hold Up” film is Paul Haggis’ “Crash.” This is my least favorite movie of all time. Both Sean and Josh initially praised this film. After rewatching the film they were both disappointed in themselves for initially liking the movie. They both did a good job of explaining why they were tricked. Seriously this movie is a giant piece of crap and it actually sucks more now than it did when I originally saw it.

2013 Year in Review: The Wolf of Wall Street & Grudge Match

0

Welcome to The I Hate Critics 2013 year in review. First we’re going to talk about Justin Bieber’s “Believe.” It was dumb so we moved on to the highly anticipated “Grudge Match.” Sean liked it!!!! “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” divides Sean and Josh. “The Wolf of Wall Street” pisses both Sean and Bob while Josh watched Keanu Reeve’s career flash before his eyes.

Seriously Go See Gravity on the Imax in 3D

0

Welcome to The I Hate Critics The World’s Greatest Movie Podcast. This week we talk about five movies, but let’s be honest “Gravity” is the one must see of 2013. It’s like “Avatar,” “Titanic,” “Jurassic Park.” You really need to see this movie in a theater and we loved it so much we talk about it for over 20 minutes. Which means we hardly talk about “Runner, Runner.”

We talk way too long about Christianity and Bodybuilding, but it’s good discussion so it was tough to cut any of it. Finally Metallica’s 3D movie “Through the Never” finally came to our little town and it was impressive in its own right. Let’s face though, if you don’t like Metallica you’re not going to see it (although you should).

The ‘Undisputed Classic’ is John Wayne’s “The Searchers.” Both Josh and Bob take a look at it this week. Both of them enjoy it, but the Clint Eastwood era is their preferred era while Sean thinks it’s the best western of all time, but what does he know?

In this week in 1983 “Never Say Never Again,” “Romantic Comedy” and “Never Cry Wolf.”
