And The Nominees Are…White

0

Welcome to this weeks episode of the I Hate Critics Podcast. The Oscar nominations are out and they are all white…imagine that. Ride Along 2 won the weekend and Michael Bay attempted to make a non Michael Bay movie with 13 Hours The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.

Our Undisputed Classic this week is The Man Who Fell to Earth. David Bowie also passed this week and we chose to remember him by talking about his cult classic.

In 1986 Clan of the Cave Bear, Troll, The Long Shot and Iron Eagle came out.

The Hateful Eight

Welcome to this weeks episode of the I Hate Critics Podcast where we do not talk about Star Wars. Instead we drove 3 hours to see Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. Then we decided to record the podcast in the car…I apologize if the sound isn’t as good as it normally is. Obviously we talk about The Hateful Eight but we also take on Concussion, The Big Short, Joy, Sisters and I think that’s it. Ultimately it was a good week for movies.

Good Grief James Bond

This week we’ve got two new movies. Our first movie is the latest installment in the James Bond universe and that’s Spectre. Our resident film critic didn’t not like it, but neither did our resident Bond fan. In fact we spend most of the movie going through the history of James Bond and picking it apart and talking about what works, what worked and what’s wrong. We then move on to The Peanuts Movie which Sean and I both adored, but I couldn’t help troll it a little….just a little.

Minions & The Godfather Part II

0

On this episode of I Hate Critics we’ve got three new movies: Minions cleaned up this weekend bringing in $120 million. It’s a movie that has been marketed well. Kids love the Minions, but it’s mostly forgettable. They’ve tricked our kids into watching garbage…good for them I guess. The Gallows is as big of a hit as any other movie this weekend. It was made for $100,000 and made $10,000,000. The acting is pretty bad as is the story but more power too them. I’m happy for their success. Self/Less is the movie where Ben Kingsley gets to become Ryan Reynolds and more or less make an action flick that is kind of boring. So it was a pretty weak weekend. Sorry about that.

Minions

Our Undisputed Classic is The Godfather Part II. Minions is a prequel about bad guys and so is The Godfather Part II so why not? The Godfather Part II is one of the best movies of all time. It’s a movie I’ve taken for granted. All three of us watched it again last week and if you haven’t seen this movie you really should. It’s brilliant,

In 1985 Silverado and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome were released.

Our trailers this week are:

Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Featurette
Deadpool Leaked Trailer
