VH1 Classic’s centerpiece in original programming “That Metal Show” had returned for its 13th season. The acclaimed hard rock/heavy metal talk show, hosted by Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine, kicked off the latest season on January 18, 2014.
This season will mark some monumental changes for the show as it returns to New York City. Previously, the show was taped over several days of one week out at Sony Studios in Los Angeles. The new season will be shot at Metropolis Studios on Tuesday nights for broadcast that Saturday. Season 13 will also consist of 12 new episodes, making it the longest season in the show’s history. Fans can also catch the complete season 12 and brand new exclusive bonus clips at ThatMetalShow.VH1.com and in the new VH1 app. New episodes of season 13 will launch on the web and in the app every Sunday morning following the show’s on-air premiere.
Jason and Bob got the chance to chat with comedian Don Jamieson about the upcoming season of “That Metal Show,” The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Kiss and his upcoming stand up CD “No Life till Laughter.”
This season will see the return of some our favorite segments “TMS TOP 5,” “The Throw Down,” “Put It On The Table,” and the fans favorite, “Stump The Trunk.” The set will also be graced by rock and metal legends that will perform as one-man house bands throughout each new episode.
This Sesaon the boys welcome Zakk Wylde, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, Alter Bridge, Mick Mars from Motley Crue, Ted Nugent, The Winery Dogs, Peter Criss & Ace Frehley, Morgan Rose from Sevendust, Al Jourgensen of Ministry and many more.
2012 has been one of my favorite years in rock music. There have been so many great rock albums released, one of which is the side project from Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti, simply called Tremonti. The name of the album is “All I Was” and Mark really took the heavy up a notch. It’s a great album and once I saw them live I ended up liking the album that much more. Currently Tremonti has Wolfgang Van Halen covering bass duties which just adds a little bit more to the whole project. Recently I got the chance to chat with Mark and drummer Garrett Whitlock about the album, Wolfgang Van Halen, his experience listening to the new Van Halen album live in a tiny room at Eddie Van Halen’s house and by live I mean Van Halen played it live for him. We also chat about the new album and his experience with “That Metal Show.”
