Sammy Hagar Interview

Interview – Sammy Hagar – With a Little Help from his Friends

Sammy Hagar is a living legend that has been playing rock music for four decades. He’s played in three great bands (Montrose, Van Halen and Chickenfoot) and has put together an equally as impressive solo career. Sammy Hagar has a new album out called “Sammy Hagar and Friends.” I personally think it’s one of the best albums he’s ever made. Recently I got the chance to chat with Sammy.

Zoiks! Online Interviews: Mark Tremonti of Creed, Alter Bridge and well Tremonti

2012 has been one of my favorite years in rock music. There have been so many great rock albums released, one of which is the side project from Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti, simply called Tremonti. The name of the album is “All I Was” and Mark really took the heavy up a notch. It’s a great album and once I saw them live I ended up liking the album that much more. Currently Tremonti has Wolfgang Van Halen covering bass duties which just adds a little bit more to the whole project. Recently I got the chance to chat with Mark and drummer Garrett Whitlock about the album, Wolfgang Van Halen, his experience listening to the new Van Halen album live in a tiny room at Eddie Van Halen’s house and by live I mean Van Halen played it live for him. We also chat about the new album and his experience with “That Metal Show.”

Zoiks! Online Interviews: Halestorm

Halestorm is quickly becoming one of my favorite newer bands. The first time I saw them live was on the Uproar tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed. I had gone to that show wanting to catch Hell Yeah not knowing much about Halestorm. Unfortunately the Hell Yeah set overlapped a little bit with the Halestorm set, so I only caught the tale end of their set and they did this cool drum thing that caught my attention. Immediately I went home and started looking shit up on you tube and a fan was born.

I was sent to cover The Carnival of Madness stop in Bridgeview Illinois at Toyota Park. The weather was gloomy, but I thought for sure the show would go on. New Medicine and Cavo played their entire sets when Halestorm took the stage and performed like a headliner. It seemed like the rain only made them play better. Unfortunately the weather was starting to get out of control and during Halestorm’s final song the plug was pulled and the rest of the concert was cancelled. While it sucks for the fans that came out to see Chevelle and Evanescence it was still a pretty cool experience that none of us will ever forget…for better or worse. Fortunately for me I got the chance to hang out in Halestorm’s dressing room and chat with the band.
