Our Podcast is Crisis

This week we’ve got four new movies. It’s a bad week for movies. It’s Halloween weekend and the studios decided to release movies that could disappear quietly. Burnt, could have been ok, but it didn’t have much of a sense of humor. Our Brand is Crisis keeps pulling it’s punches which leaves us with just kind of a regular movie. Truth is a rather disappointing movie. The movie ends up being a movie that tries to prove George Bush lied. Well no shit and it’s just kind of a weak movie because of that. Bone Tomahawk is a pretty solid western horror film. it’s brutal, so brutal that I had to turn my head and you know what kind of sick movies I like.

Top Five this week is Political films. We talk about All the Presidents Men, Dr. Strangelove, Milk, Argo, An American President, The Contender, Primary Colors, Dave, Election, In the Loop, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and more.

Our Undisputed Classic this week is Wag the Dog. A movie that is so ahead of it’s time while being behind the times. It’s funny, dark and so true. It’s a remarkable movie.

In 1985 we take on To Live and Die in LA, Nightmare on Elm Street 2, Death Wish 3

Our trailers this week are:

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Podcast. We watched two movies this week, Old Man Washington’s “The Equalizer,” and the family friendly “Box Trolls. “The Equalizer” over performed because it made more money than it’s worth and “The Box Trolls” under performed in that it was worth way more than it made.

This week Josh defends “Man on Fire” another Old Man Washington film. He loves the movies potential, Sean and I hate it because of it’s potential to be good.

In 1984 three some what small movies came out: “Heartbreakers,” Irreconcilable Differences,” “The Wild Life” which was written by Cameron Crowe

Think Like a Karate Kid…Too

Welcome to the I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. Sadly we’re already at the halfway point of 2014, where did the time go? The three of us discuss our top movies so far of 2014. Common films in the top five included “Enemy,” “Under the Skin,” and “Chef.” As well as “Captain American” and “Cheap Thrills.” Other than that it hasn’t been the greatest year in movies.

Continuing with that trend is Clint Eastwood’s “Jersey Boys” which contains many magical moments but in between those magical moments is a lot of down time. At least we got the very entertaining “Think Like A Man Too,” a pretty bad movie with a great cast to make up for it.

On this weeks Does it Hold Up segment we discuss “The English Patient.” Sadly we all agree that it’s probably a good movie, we just don’t like watching it…does that even make sense?

This week in 1984 “The Karate Kid” was released. Along with “The Karate Kid” was “Rhinestone” and “The Pope of Greenwich Village.”
