Deadpool Valentines

0

Welcome to this weeks episode of the I Hate Critics Podcast. Happy Valentines Day. This week we had four new movies. Deadpool came into our lives and hit a homerun. It’s a movie that had the courage to be dumb which made it poetic. Then there was How to Be Single which was a sweet movie, Zealander 2 which was god awful and Where to Invade Next which is the next Michael Moore film. This film does not preach to the choir but i fear only the choir is watching. It’s a very thoughtful documentary that should be watched.

Welcome to this weeks episode of the I Hate Critics Podcast. This week we had four new movies. The Oscar nominated Danish Girl, the forgettable The Boy and The Fifth Wave and Dirty Grandpa which should have been really funny and obscene but instead it was just obscene and unfunny…but it gave us an excuse to make it a Robert DeNiro week.

Mean Streets

Our Top Five this week is favorite Robert DeNiro movies. We talk Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter, Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, Goodfellas, Casino and many more.

Our Undisputed Classic this week is Mean Streets, the movie that started it all for Martin Scorsese and Robert DeNiro.

In 1986 My Chauffeur and The Image Maker came out.

This week we’ve got two new movies this week. He Named me Malala is a great documentary by David Guggenheim about the insanely brave Malala. Pan also came out but nobody seemed to notice. I’m not even sure the filmmakers realized they were making a movie. It is however Hugh Jackman’s birthday so Happy Birthday Hugh, here’s the biggest bomb of your career.

Rather than an Undisputed Classic we decided to challenge ourselves by checking out a Hugh Jackman film we hadn’t seen which included Prisoners, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Fountain.

In 1985 we take on Sliver Bullet & Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins

Our trailers this week are:

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Hail Ceasar

Transcendence Bombs, Cheap Thrills Scares

Welcome to The I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. This week Johnny Depp stars in the box office bomb “Transcendence” where he pops up and ruins all masturbatory situations…while taking over New Mexico…I didn’t see it, but that’s what I took out of it. We finally saw “Rio 2” a week late and a movie about “Bears” and Heaven came out. I caught the new thrill “Cheap Thrills” and based on the movies we talked about this week, I’d say I had the best experience.

Our Undisputed Classic this week is “Persona.” Josh really liked this movie and I found myself really wanting to see it after he and Sean describe it…it sounds amazing.

In 1984 nothing of note came out

Draft Day, Under the Skin, Memento and Almost Famous Wins!!!

Welcome to The I Hate Critics Movie Review Podcast. Our March Movie Madness is finally over and “Almost Famous” is your winner. Thanks to all of you who voted. This week we talk “Draft Day,” “Oculus” and “Under the Skin.” Sean said “Draft Day” was enjoyable. As a group we ranked the top five Kevin Costner films. Both Sean and Josh caught “Oculus” from WWE films. I saw that it was from WWE films and figured out that it’d be a waste of time… I was right.

Josh, Sean and I drove 3 hours to Evanston, IL just to see Scarlett Johansson get naked…I mean her amazing film “Under the Skin.” I’m completely joking about the only going to see her naked. This movie looked amazing and we really wanted to see it and it was amazing. It’ll stick with me for a long time.

Our Undisputed Classic this week is “Memento.” Josh wonders if Christopher Nolan is the best working director out there. I kind of feel like Nolan and David Fincher are interchangeable. I’m kind of partial to David O. Russell right now. That said “Memento” is one amazing film.

In 1984 “Iceman” and “Friday the 13th IV” came out. Josh has a soft spot for “Iceman,” but nobody really cares about “Friday the 13th IV”

Trailers this week:

Wish I Were Here
I Origins
